Diana Payan Joins the Cast of CARE at the Young Vic
We are delighted to announce that our client Diana Payan is among the ensemble cast of Alexander Zeldin's CARE, opening at the Young Vic this May.
Our warmest congratulations to Diana on joining this highly anticipated production — Zeldin's Young Vic debut and his return to the London stage following the celebrated Inequalities trilogy.
About the production
Written and directed by Alexander Zeldin, CARE is a co-production between the Young Vic and A Zeldin Company, translated and adapted from Zeldin's French-language play Une Mort Dans La Famille, which premiered at the Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe in 2022.
The play centres on a single mother, two feuding pre-teens and their grandmother. When Grandmother takes a fall and is hastily moved into a care home, the family is forced to confront questions of loss, longing and what truly matters — finding, in the smallest moments of everyday life, an unexpected and quietly insistent joy.
It is, in keeping with Zeldin's distinctive body of work, a play about ordinary people drawn with extraordinary tenderness and precision.
Diana joins a remarkable ensemble that includes Linda Bassett, Rosie Cavaliero, Hayley Carmichael, Taru Devani, Richard Durden, Aoife Gaston, Llewella Gideon, William Lawlor, Ethan Mahony, Ann Mitchell, Winston Sookhan and Charlie Webb.
About Alexander Zeldin
Alexander Zeldin is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary British theatre. His Inequalities trilogy — LOVE, Beyond Caring and Faith, Hope and Charity — established him as a singular chronicler of everyday life in modern Britain, and his subsequent work, including The Confessions and The Other Place, has been widely acclaimed both in the UK and internationally. CARE marks his eagerly anticipated debut at the Young Vic.
